Collection: The Worm
WORM - Our Anthropocene
Lyrics:
Welcome to our time
There may not be anyone here
We’re deep underground

Glaciers came and went
We have started climate change
Our Anthropocene

Up above this hole
The world’s surface is a mess
Just too many folks

What’s it like with you?
I’m so curious but you know
Chance of contact slim

Release notes
June invites Joe to sing.

They put the song in the time capsule, not knowing it will be found and sung there, too.

Tilla and Crow sing it to understand who they're communicating with, while through family history know that Joe and June may be 'creation figures.'

@suburbanfolk
I think you've nailed the setting of being underground a mine with the guitar work

@mahtowin
You made a song from haikus with a very calm and chilly atmosphere. That‘s building up a opposite to the message and the background.
Good one! Enjoyed listening!

That syllable count
Is a reliable sign
The character's mad

How implausible
Is it that they'd take the time
to phrase things so well?

So satisfying;
It takes genuine effort
to be so precise

i am imagining the set design for this musical. if there are any geniuses left at Cinecittà, a few of them might manage it. imagining an entire civilzation's last gasps in their underground city is a large order, but not an impossible one. fellini managed something similar with his satyricon.

Wonderfully strange music to match the unusual lyric. Love that quirky keyboard, which gives the whole thing a spaced-out feel. Nice!

what an interesting idea! the voice and music fit the idea so wel! - sort of pretty but also a bit chaotic - very clever

I always love your gentle and welcoming weirdness.
Great commitment to the Haiku form.
So much subtle strangeness going on.

I like the REM meets Deliverance vibe on this one. The gentle longing for contact and the acceptance of its unlikelihood.

Okay, I needed to go back to the source. This sounds so spacious. It's lovely and super compelling...and super depressing. That last verse, ouch!
